ARTIST BIOGRAPHY: Born in 1996, I spent as much of my early life as I can remember drawing and making art. Something seemed to continuously pull me back to paper, pens, and pencils, once I was done exploring nearby forests and meadows in northern Illinois. In addition to traditional art, I've pursued graphic design, and spent as much time as possible around animals, particularly dogs. I graduated from Loyola University in 2018 with a Bachelor degree in Drawing and Painting, and Bachelor degree in Visual Communications. I chose a writing-intensive alternative to core curriculum that allowed me to delve into literature and history, and writing became one of my primary inspirations. My affinity for animals and love of nature have also been a great source of inspiration, as well as a grounding comfort. My commission work primarily consists of portraits of animals, beloved pets and companions. Meanwhile, my personal portfolio draws more upon my own experiences as an artist and my education, examining whatever questions and observations arise as I continue to live and learn. Overall, I aim to create a body of work that explores the big picture questions of the individual's place in society and humanity's place in the natural world, while never losing sight of the importance of the personal connections we form with even the smallest of creatures.

Commission Information

For commission inquiries, please contact by email: [email protected]

For the past six years and throughout my education, I've regularly taken commissions to capture the animals and places that mean a lot to people. With photo references provided, I can create a realistic graphite or colored pencil drawing, capturing the personality of the subject matter. Although my current portfolio consists primarily of domesticated animals, I will happily draw any wildlife, landscapes, or architecture, and can discuss whatever other ideas you might have.Prices vary depending on size, complexity, and medium. The majority of my work is sized to fit common photo sizes, to make framing as easy as possible, but I can work at any size needed. To commission me, please reach out via email, letting me know what you'd like, and we'll discuss from there. I'll ask for whatever references I'll need to make sure I can draw the subject as accurately as possible. Once I know what you would like and we have agreed upon a price, I'll send an invoice via PayPal. As soon as the invoice is paid, I'll start work on your piece, and keep you updated throughout the process. When it's done, your artwork will be mailed to you in secure packaging to ensure it won't be damaged in the mail.Currently, I prefer to use PayPal for payment, as I believe it offers the best security for both the artist and client. If that is not an option for you for any reason, I'm also happy to work out an alternative.

Artist Statement

What are the laws of nature? How have we written, rewritten, and broken them? How do we interact with and interpret the world around us?At its heart, the work plays with both conflict and synthesis between nature and humanity. Science, art, and religion are presented as aspects of the same, unifying experiences: wonder at the world around us, and the human urge to ask ourselves β€˜why’ and β€˜how’. Some of the pieces call attention to injustice and cruelty, while others use humor to disarm the viewer. The craft itself makes use of common, cheap materials, while often emulating Christian iconography and Western esoterica. This equalization of the high and low creates a sense of frivolity, providing the freedom to explore ideas and fears without the weight of taking them too seriously. The artwork strives for a balance between reverence and vulgarity, inviting the viewer to examine their own beliefs about what deserves to be exalted.
